Terms of Use

The deal for using FartNet. Short version: you're an adult, crude humor is the point, hate and harassment are not, and Fart Coins aren't real money.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using FartNet, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

2. You must be 18 or older

FartNet is for adults only. You confirm your date of birth when you sign up, and you must be 18 or older. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we delete it.

3. Your account

• Use a real email you can access, and keep your password to yourself.
• You're responsible for what happens on your account.
• One person, one account. Don't impersonate anyone or pick a username meant to mislead or offend.

4. Community rules

FartNet is crude on purpose. Swearing, toilet humor and gross-out jokes are fine. We have zero tolerance for abusive or objectionable content, and you agree not to post, send or record:

• Hate speech or slurs attacking people for race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or similar traits.
• Harassment, bullying, threats, or encouraging anyone to hurt themselves or others.
• Sexual content of any kind involving minors, or sexually explicit material.
• Recordings of other people made without their consent, or anyone's private information (doxxing).
• Content that's illegal, promotes violence or illegal activity, or infringes someone else's rights.
• Spam, scams, or attempts to cheat streaks, likes, referrals or Fart Coins (fake accounts, bots, exploits).

The app automatically masks slurs, but that doesn't make hateful content acceptable.

5. Reporting, blocking and enforcement

• You can report any fart, comment or user, and block anyone so you no longer see them.
• We aim to review reports within 24 hours.
• We may remove content, put an account on probation, or permanently ban it, without warning, if we believe these rules were broken. Banned users lose access to their coins, jars and content.

6. Your content

You own the farts, names, comments and messages you create. By posting them, you give FartNet a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, play, display and share that content inside the app and in promoting FartNet. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where others already saved or bought it (for example, a jar someone bought on a Fart Stand) or where we must keep it for legal or safety reasons.

Only post recordings you made yourself. Farts are public for 24 hours on the Hotmap and nearby; your Fart Stream shows them to your friends while your streak lasts.

7. Location

FartNet uses your location to show farts nearby and place farts you send to the Hotmap. Farts you send to the Hotmap show your username and an approximate location. Don't use FartNet to track or meet people in ways that make anyone unsafe.

8. Fart Coins and purchases

• Fart Coins are a virtual item for use inside FartNet (jarring farts, saving streaks, buying jars). They have no cash value, can't be exchanged for money, and aren't your property.
• Purchases are made through Apple and are subject to Apple's terms. Except where the law requires, purchases are final; refund requests go through Apple.
• We may change coin prices or what coins do. We'll try to give notice of changes that affect coins you've already bought.
• Coins earned through cheating or refunded purchases may be removed.

9. Fart Stand and the Marketplace

You can sell jars to other users for Fart Coins on your Fart Stand. A bought jar is a copy for the buyer's Shelf; it can't be resold. Coin trades are final. A future Marketplace for real money will have its own additional terms before it opens.

10. Ending your account

You can delete your account any time in Settings. That removes your profile and content as described in the Privacy Policy, and any unused coins are lost. We may suspend or end accounts that break these Terms.

11. Disclaimers and limits

FartNet is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee it will always be available or error-free, and we aren't responsible for what other users post. To the extent the law allows, FartNet won't be liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability to you won't exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. We'll announce material changes in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use FartNet after that means you accept the updated Terms.
